For a hair under $200, the Lexmark X7170 All-in-One Color Inkjet
Printer prints, scans, copies, and faxes with quality. The X7170 also
comes with Lexmark Productivity Suite software that strives to
simplify and expedite the managing, selecting, disbursing and filing
of documents in combination with the functions of the X7170. In draft mode,
print speed runs up to 22 pages per minute black and 15 pages per
minute in color, with up to 4,800 x 1,200 dpi resolution. Optical
scan resolution is 1200 x 4800 dpi. The fax function enables users to
send a fax in bulk to up to 20 fax numbers. And while the Lexmark
X7170 All-in-One is made for office work, it also makes printing
photos easy. The X7170 lets the user print without the PC via digital devices with PictBridge technology and includes a specialized 4" x 6" tray. Despite all the new age
features, however, the printer does use only one multicolor print
cartridge (and one black print cartridge) instead of a separate ink
tank for each color. But for the price, the Lexmark X7170 All-in-One
Printer delivers lots of features and respectable quality.
