An alternative to the HP 4215, the HP OfficeJet 5505 All-in-One offers
much of the same features, plus borderless printing (when using 4" x
6.5" tab paper). The HP photo software easily introduces the novice
to managing scanned or digital images. Printing speed is 11 pages
per minute in color and 15 pages per minute in black and white. While
color resolution can be 4800 x 1200 optimized dpi, this is one HP
printer that doesn't accept the HP 58 photo ink cartridge for six-ink
color photo prints. Instead the HP 57 tri-color inkjet print
cartridge and the HP 56 black inkjet print cartridge will do all the
work when it comes to copying, printing and faxing. The fax machine
has an incoming fax memory of 55 pages and the ability to hold 80
speed dial numbers. Black and white documents print in up to 1200
dpi--adequate for standard home office tasks--and the copier enables
the user to easily modify the original document (which is good since a
little shrinking may be necessary so nothing is cut off). All in all,
the HP OfficeJet 5505 All-in-One is a sturdy fax, scanner, copier
and printer that efficiently gets basic home office jobs done.
