The page has lines or is faded in some areas
- Check the ink supply -- you may need to refill your cartridge.
- The print head may be clogged with dried ink. Clean your print
head by pressing the “Clean Print Head” button on the printer
(for Epson printers) or choosing the “Clean Print Head” option
on the printer software. If that doesn’t solve the problem, try
using a damp cloth to clean the print head by hand.
- Check the “Print Quality” setting on your printer -- you may
accidentally have it set on “Draft” or “Economy.”
- It’s possible that you’re trying to print on a medium that isn’t
compatible with your printer. Try testing your print job on plain
paper.
- Check to make sure that your cartridge is properly installed
-- it might not be sitting correctly in the printer. Remove it
and re-install it.
The printout is blurry or smudged
- Make sure you’re using clean, dry paper. If the paper is damp,
it will not print well.
- The print head may be clogged with dried ink. Clean your print
head by pressing the “Clean Print Head” button on the printer
(for Epson printers) or choosing the “Clean Print Head” option
on the printer software. If that doesn’t solve the problem, try
using a damp cloth to clean the print head by hand.
- It’s possible that you’re trying to print on a medium that isn’t

- You may have the incorrect driver settings loaded on your computer.
Try checking the settings and, if necessary, re-installing the
printer software.
