Epson Printer Reviews
Epson 1000 ICS Inkjet Printer
The Epson 1000 ICS is a multifunction printer that offers copying and scanning capabilities. The copier can be used without even turning on your computer, and can even print in color. Borderless photo printing is a major feature on this versatile printer. Print in black at speeds of 8 pages per minute with 2880 X 720 dpi resolution. The printer can accommodate up to A4 size media. The color copier can copy at speeds of 3.2 pages per minute. The system itself is only compatible with PC platforms. Affordability and versatility are the two major selling points of the Epson 1000 ICS Multifunction printer. It can be purchased for under $200. But keep in mind that you get what you pay for. Expect the printer to jam up, expect unreliable copying and printing, and expect to feed this printer ink on a monthly basis.

Epson CX6400 Printer
4 DuraBrite ink cartridges, including an oversized black cartridge, are used in the Epson CX6400 printer. This multifunction printer also functions as a scanner and copier. Both of these options are offered at 1200 X 2400 dpi resolution, which should meet the needs of the average user. One of the best features on this printer is the software. One of our favorite pieces of software on the CX6400 is the word-recognition software. If you’ve lost a soft copy of a document, just scan in the hard copy. We think this printer is pretty fairly priced given the quality and flexibility. It offers pretty speedy printing (about 20 pages per minute) at very good resolution. Here are some other features and benefits that we like: LCD display mounted on the printer, borderless printing option, security lock function, ArcSoft Greeting Card Creator comes standard, and it looks cool!
Epson Stylus Pro 10000 Inkjet Printer
The Stylus Pro 10000 is an outstanding large format printer that offers an amazing 180 nozzles per color, super high speed printing, and outstanding print quality. Variable Size Droplet Technology allows the printer to automatically increase the size of dots to maximize printer speeds in areas of solid color. Print 21.4 sq. meters per hour in black, and 20 sq. meters per hour in color with 1440 X 720 dpi resolution. This Epson Stylus printer is compatible with both MAC and PC and comes with a one year warranty. It can support a duty cycle of up to 20,000 pages per month. The archival ink on this machine is outstanding – it’s virtually indestructible. We like the active nozzle monitoring on this printer, which actually checks the ink nozzles with a laser to detect poor performance. If it finds a problem, it quickly cleans them—forget about ruining your print outs due to clogged ink jets. Overall, we give this printer a “BUY” rating. It’s probably one of the smartest printers on the market today.
Epson Stylus C40UX Inkjet Printer
ooking for an affordable color printer? The Epson C40UX won’t wow you with speed or quality, but it gets the job done. It’s affordable and reliable, good enough for any home user with fairly basic printing needs. It sets up fairly easy and is a snap to operate and maintain. This printer uses Epson’s Micro Piezo printer heads and Ultra MicroDot and VSD technology. The end result is fairly high quality print resolution at fast speeds with minimal downtime. Our warning to you -- you’re going to buying ink cartridges for this printer because it drinks printer ink. The ink cartridges are tiny, so be prepared to replace them on a monthly basis. The only other major flaw on the Epson C40UX is the noise. I haven’t seen many printers as noisy as this one. Beyond that though, this is a pretty solid entry-level printer for home users. Keep in mind that you really do get what you pay for with printers.
Epson AcuLaser C4000PS Laser Printer
This is a solid workgroup printer that is ideal for networked environments. It handles all tasks with ease, providing class-leading first color prints in as little as 17 seconds. It was created for short run color printing tasks such as newsletters, quotes, PowerPoint, and other similar applications. The C4000PS uses AcuLaser Quadra Beam Technology to simultaneously use 4 laser beams, one for each color. This allows the printer to print 4 times faster than the average laser printer. What about the toner? This printer uses the new AcuLaser Micro Polymer toner which means you can expect high-quality results even at top speeds. The Epson AcuLaser C4000PS is a rather large, heavy printer that has built in LAN support. In addition to the performance, we like the LCD display, duplex printing option, and the size of the print trays. Watch out for laser toner cartridges costs with this machine. Expect to pay up to $200 per cartridge. This printer is a definite “BUY” if you can afford it.
